Alder Lake Fire Reaches Level 1 Evacuation Trigger

The Alder Lake Fire has triggered a Level 1 evacuation notice for people living near Pleasant Valley Road in Mineral.

Level 1 means residents should have a plan for evacuation and be prepared to do so, should the situation escalate further. Residents should be aware of the danger, monitor the media for information and check the social media pages of local authorities.

Smoke from the fires at this point is a chief cause of concern. Evacuations at this time is voluntary, but residents with special needs or health concerns (like breathing problems) should make arrangements to leave.

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Code Red notification for people in the area.

Should the situation escalate to level 2, there will be further evacuation notices and and a shelter will be setup in Morton.
