Anti-Fraud Expo Coming to Toledo Senior Center

A Be Aware, Anti-Fraud Expo will be held Wednesday, May 8, at the Toledo Senior Center.

At 10:30 a.m., Teresa Glidden, of the office of the state Secretary of State, will be speaking on “CPW, Give Smart.”

At 11:15 a.m., Lyn Peters, of the Department of Financial Institutions, will be talking about “Elder Investment Fraud.”

At 1:30 p.m., Sarah Clark, Office of the Insurance Commissioner, will discuss the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA).

 

Downtown Business Academy Planned for Westminster Presbyterian

Ways to boost a business will be presented during a Downtown Business Academy noon-2 p.m Wednesday, May 8, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church Community Center.

  This business and education series is open to all area small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. It is sponsored by the Chehalis Community Renaissance Team.

The May session will focus on writing for advertising. In this workshop, participants will will learn how to write about their products and services clearly and concisely with professional writer Sharon Ernst.

 The Downtown Business Academy is a monthly series.  Upcoming topics include: small business advertising, bookkeeping and finance, safety and security, and retail storefront displays.  

Cost to attend is $20, and all are welcome. Lunch is provided and sponsored by TwinStar Credit Union.
