Mycological Society Schedules October Meeting, Features Speaker on Exotic Fungi

The Southwest Washington Mycological Society has scheduled its next monthly meeting on Oct. 1 featuring speaker Daniel Winkler.

“(Winkler)l enjoys world renown in the mycological community,” according to the group. “His Mushroaming Eco-Adventures takes mushroom enthusiasts on tours around the globe in search of exotic fungi. Among other publications, he is the author of Field Guide to Edible Mushrooms of the Pacific Northwest.”

Non-members are welcome and invited to bring unidentified mushrooms in for expert analysis. Meetings start at 6 p.m. in the Agricultural Extension meeting room located in the basement of the historical Lewis County Courthouse at 351 NW North Street, Chehalis (near the west entrance).
