The Boys and Girls Club of Chehalis recently received two charitable gifts.

The club received a $5,000 grant this month to participate in the National Boys & Girls Clubs Triple Play wellness program. Triple Play’s goal is to improve the overall health of club members.

“We are now offering healthy after-school snacks and new exercise activities in the gym,” said John Setterstrom, who has served as the interim executive director since Feb. 5, in a press release. “We’re off to a good start.”

The second donation amounted to $900 and came from Westminster Bells. The handbell choir of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Chehalis donated the proceeds from their holiday concert performances.

“This community has been tremendously supportive, and the Westminster Bells are another wonderful example,” Setterstrom said in the press release.
